I’m a 3rd year Psych student and I’ve been really wanting to get some volunteer experience (preferrably a crisis line operator) this summer. I understand that with applications and training this is going to drag on well into the fall semester and (hopefully) winter semester if I excell in it enough.

Does anyone have any experience in volunteering while simultaneously balancing a full course load? How stressful was it? At first I just wanted something productive to focus on during my summer. However, I dont want my performance in my volunteering to be diminished once the semester comes in full swing. Are the percieved benifits (experience and good references) worth the impact this time commitment might have on my GPA? Any tips in managing time for this? Any and all insights are appreciated
