Applications now open for RAID/VNUA early career research program
RAID Network is pleased to announce the roll-out of the 4th cohort of this exciting opportunity! Following on from Phase 2 of this project, funded by the Crawford Fund and Australian Volunteers Program, RAID Network is looking for Early-Mid Career Researchers (EMCR’s) to join in a remote (online) and in country training program focused on partnering Vietnamese and Australian researchers to develop skills in research paper writing collaboratively and cross-culturally.
The Opportunity
This Early Career Researcher program offers a unique opportunity for both Australian and Vietnamese students to collaboratively enhance their research paper writing skills. By bringing together diverse perspectives, the program fosters a cross-cultural learning environment where participants can share knowledge, refine their writing techniques, and develop a deeper understanding of international research standards. Through guided sessions and peer collaboration, students will gain practical experience in structuring, drafting, and polishing academic papers, all while building valuable connections with fellow researchers from different backgrounds. This program not only equips participants with essential academic skills but also prepares them for future global research collaborations.
Activities
Participants in this program will:
- Learn advanced research paper writing techniques.
- Engage in cross-cultural collaboration, enhancing both professional and interpersonal skills.
- Work closely with peers from Vietnam and Australia to produce high-quality, collaborative research outputs.
Time Commitment
To participate in the program, we expect you to commit to 1, 1.5 hour zoom session after hours for 6 weeks commencing in approximately June 2025. There will also be outside time commitments with partners required during these 6 weeks for further learnings and collaboration.
You will also be required to travel to Vietnam for 1-2 weeks (TBC) in July/August of 2025 for an immersive agricultural in country volunteer program with various organisations and farmers.
Benefits
By joining this program, participants will:
- Sharpen their research paper writing skills and contribute to impactful publications.
- Gain valuable experience in cross-cultural collaboration, which is essential for success in global research initiatives.
- Expand their professional networks by working closely with researchers from both Vietnam and Australia.
- Develop an understanding of agricultural synergies across Australia and Vietnam through in country volunteering work within the Vietnamese agricultural industry.
We encourage motivated and committed EMCRs to apply for this unique opportunity to enhance their research skills and build lasting international collaborations. We look forward to welcoming participants who are eager to contribute to and grow from this enriching experience.
