Are you an early to mid-career researcher eager to showcase/present your agriculture-related work (both research and practice) to a global audience?

The Brown Bag Seminar aims to provide a platform for early and mid-career researchers and practitioners to present their work in various fields of agricultural research and development. Presenters will have the chance to share their work on international agricultural development and win the People Choice Outstanding Presenter award, which will be chosen through live voting at the end of the seminar.

Presentations will cover a wide range of agricultural research areas, including but not limited to agronomy, biotechnology, soil science, crop protection, and sustainable agriculture.

Presenters will have the opportunity to deliver a brief overview of their research and practice, highlighting relevant topics such as key findings, methodologies used, and implications for agricultural development.

If selected to present, the time allocation will be 6-7 minutes for each presentation. See following outline suggestions for presentations:

Introduction

  • Introduce the topic’s significance in agricultural research
  • Emphasise the role of early career researcher in the work

Methodology/Theory of Change 

  • Present the innovative methodology or theory guiding your research
  • Work objectives, process outcome as relevant
  • Highlight its relevance to advancing agricultural knowledge

Key Lessons Learned

  • Summarise the main insights gained from your work
  • Highlight any unexpected findings or challenges

Implications for Ag Policy and International Research

  • Discuss the policy implications of your research
  • Emphasise its relevance to global agricultural challenges

Interactive Q&A: Following each presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussions with the presenter, facilitating knowledge exchange and peer learning. (30 minutes Q&A).
