Grow Your Career with a Global Leader in Agriculture
Syngenta is one of the world’s leading agriculture companies, present in more than 90 countries and committed to helping farmers grow more with less. In Australia and New Zealand, we are driving profitable growth and accelerating innovation – partnering with growers to deliver the next generation of vegetable seed varieties.
We are looking for a curious and motivated Graduate Technical Sales Representative to join our Vegetable Seeds team in South Australia. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to build hands-on experience in agronomy, technical sales, product development and grower engagement.
You will be supported by experienced Product Specialists, Territory Sales Representatives and commercial teams as you learn how new vegetable varieties are trialled, evaluated, positioned and launched in market.
About the Role
Based in the field across South Australia, you will support the planning, execution and evaluation of pre-commercial vegetable seed trials. You will work closely with growers, cooperators and internal teams to collect trial data, observe crop performance and contribute to decisions that help shape Syngenta’s future vegetable seed portfolio.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being outdoors, working with people, learning from data and building practical knowledge of horticulture and seed technology.
You will report to the Head of Sales and work closely with Product Specialists, Territory Sales Representatives, and Commercial and Marketing teams across ANZ.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting the setup, monitoring and evaluation of vegetable seed trials with growers and cooperators
- Collecting and maintaining accurate trial data, observations and photos
- Learning how variety performance, grower needs and market trends inform product decisions
- Supporting field days, grower visits, training activities and new variety launches
- Building relationships with growers, industry partners and internal teams
- Sharing local insights with Product, Sales, Commercial and Marketing teams
- Looking for simple ways to improve communication, reduce duplication and increase efficiency
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone at the start of their career who is eager to learn and contribute.
You may be a recent graduate in agriculture, horticulture, agronomy, plant science, business, or a related field. Previous work experience in horticulture, farming, retail agronomy, research trials or customer-facing roles would be helpful, but is not essential.
You will bring:
- A genuine interest in agriculture, horticulture and working with growers
- A willingness to learn about vegetable crops, variety performance and seed technology
- Strong attention to detail and confidence working with data
- Good communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships
- A collaborative, “One Team” mindset
- The confidence to work independently in the field with support from experienced colleagues
- Curiosity, accountability and a practical approach to solving problems
- A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel within South Australia and interstate.
What You’ll Gain
This role offers hands-on experience across technical sales, agronomy, trial management and product development. You will receive coaching from experienced Syngenta team members and gain exposure to growers, commercial decision-making and the launch of new vegetable seed varieties across ANZ.
It is a strong development opportunity for someone who wants to grow a long-term career in agriculture, technical sales or horticultural innovation.
Why Join Syngenta?
At Syngenta, we are passionate about helping growers succeed and creating a more sustainable future for agriculture. You will be part of a collaborative team that values curiosity, courage, accountability and working together to deliver results.
If you are ready to start your career in agriculture and want to make a practical impact with growers and new technologies, we would love to hear from you.
